Our Mission

Poolism was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to help pool and billiards players everywhere play smarter, through approachable guidance and free tools that make tracking your game, splitting a bar tab, timing a match, and working the numbers clearer, more rewarding, and more practical.

We believe that everyone who plays or dreams of playing, from first-time racks to seasoned sharks, deserves access to accurate tools, comprehensive resources, and trustworthy guidance. Our platform bridges the gap between confusing jargon and confident, well-informed decisions about technique and equipment, competitions and champions, gear and maintenance, and playing smart.

Through our free collection of tools, we help players make informed decisions about ages and milestones, grades and averages, percentages and splits, measurements and units, dates and countdowns, and tipping at the club. Our Story

Poolism emerged from a need we experienced firsthand. While trying to sort through conflicting advice and scattered references, we noticed a common challenge: the lack of accessible, accurate tools for the everyday decisions that come with practicing a technique, running the numbers on a bill at the club, and making the most of every session.

A confident game relies heavily on curiosity and a little know-how, which are invaluable. A confident player also benefits from clear answers about how a tab splits, how far apart two dates are, what a GPA works out to, how long until the next match, and how much to tip. We saw an opportunity to combine well-researched cue sports knowledge with modern tools to help people make confident decisions on and off the table.

Our team began developing tools that we wished existed when we started playing seriously. Each calculator and guide was created to solve real problems encountered when timing a countdown, comparing percentages, or converting units for a table or cue spec. We tested every tool against real-world numbers, refined the logic based on feedback, and ensured that the results reflected current, widely accepted practice.
